Hi! I’m Natalie, the founder of Hung On You Boutique, based in Essex, UK.

My journey began in October 2019 when I started creating handmade pieces using polymer clay after losing my job. It was a challenging time, but I found joy in crafting and turned my creativity into a business. By February 2020, I was selling my designs online, and what started as a passion project has grown into a thriving venture.

Today, Hung On You Boutique offers a wide range of retro, vintage-inspired jewellery, fashion accessories, barware, homewares, and stationery. Since July 2022, I’ve focused on laser cutting acrylic and wood, leaving behind clay and resin to explore the exciting possibilities these new materials offer.

My inspiration comes from the music, fashion, and culture of the 1960s and 70s—two decades I’ve always loved. My fascination began in school when I learned about Mary Quant, and it deepened as I started listening to music from this time and attending soul and reggae-themed events. The bold colours, playful patterns, and rich cultural history of these eras are at the heart of every piece I create.

While I run Hung On You Boutique myself, I’m lucky to have a small family team supporting me. My partner lends a helping hand, and my sister recently joined to create crochet pieces, which we’re excited to grow into their own collection. Keeping it a family business makes our work even more special.

Over the years, Hung On You Boutique has grown to serve customers worldwide. I sell online, through various websites (including wholesale), and regularly attend fairs, particularly those with a vintage and retro focus. It brings me so much joy to know my designs resonate with people from all walks of life.

At Hung On You Boutique, while I take inspiration from the vibrant fashion, music, and culture of the 1960s and 70s, I am mindful to celebrate the best aspects of these decades without romanticising outdated values or ideas. My focus is on reinterpreting the bold creativity and individuality of the past in a way that embraces inclusivity and contemporary values.

I strive to create a brand and online space where everyone feels welcome, regardless of their background, identity, or experiences. Hung On You Boutique is about celebrating diversity and individuality, ensuring that our pieces and community are accessible and inviting for all.
